Many of my art pieces
are cast in sand. Usually sand casting is made by pushing
an object into moist sand and then casting molten glass
into the sand mold. I'm forming a shape that grows out
of the sand and then casting the hot glass on top of
it. The glass gets to flow freely and follow it's own
paths. |

I'm making Shields
from glass instead of traditional metals because these Shields
are meant to protect the owner from invisible /
metaphysical threats or our own inner psychological
states. For example homesickness, depression, doubt
or jealousy. |
